Notes/Plot Summary
Michael breaks up a street hustle and prevents a tourist from losing his money. Michael then heads to McDonalds where he finds a woman waiting to meet him. The woman is Rachel Cooper who tells Michael of her daughter's disappearance. Rachel pleads for Michael's help in finding her daughter. Michael reluctantly agrees.
Michael consults Mercy who tells him that the culprit is likely a being called Lurk who feeds on the fears of children.
The scene shift to a bus station where The Puritan steps off with his son Judah. The Puritan boast of being protected by the armor of the lord. With a blast from his cane he fries three street thugs that start to rob him.
The scene shifts again to the apartment of  Rachel Cooper. Michael arrives to investigate missing Sarah's room. Michael walks in to find the room a mess and most items including the carpet torn to shreds. Everything seems shredded except a pink stuffed rabbit toy called "Mr. Flopso". Michael opens the closet door to find everything intact. Rachel's ex-husband Craig arrives and immediately he wants Michael to leave. Rachel and Craig bicker. Michael asks them to leave the girls room. They do.
Once they leave, Michael shifts into the substratum. Michael is attacked my a multi-armed monster from under the bed. The monster taunts Michael and Michael rips out it's tongue. Michael is awed by the power which the monster had. He next decides to investigate the closet. Inside the closet he find a very small child sized door. Around the door is a pink silhouette of a pink teddy bear. Michael opens the door into a pink world which Michael calls "a little girl's nightmare made manifest". Michael finds the girl crying. Michael introduces himself and the child tell Michael the "he" does not allow her to have friends. Lurk appears and tells Michael "Welcome to your nightmare". The story continues in the next issue.
